Bow wow wow yippie yo yippie yay Expat Choicers! We are delighted to share the news that the beagle is back! Snoopy and the Peanuts gang have been immortalised in diamond dust in a limited edition print and, Whatshisname's "Gone BFFs" (Special Edition) is now available from Addicted Art Gallery.
In case you are unfamiliar, Whatshisname (Sebastian Burdon) is a well-loved (sometimes controversial) pop artist based in London. Born in eastern Poland in 1982, Whatshisname created his first digital artwork at the tender age of 7 using an Atari 130 XE using a text editor.
After a move to London in 2006, Whatshisname began working as an assistant to well-established British artists who after reviewing his designs, motivated Sebastian to pursue a career as an artist. Today, he creates his artwork using both digital and traditional mediums.
His art celebrates an alternative to the ordinary. His desire is to encourage the viewer to look at their surrounding world and question what they see in a derisive, unorthodox way.
His Gone series was created "as I started taking my kids to birthday parties, I wondered what happened to those characters I knew as a kid. They were like these shadowy figures in the back of my mind. Recreating them, it feels like they could be saying goodbye as you forget them or hello as you remember them," says Sebastian.

"The art I make can only be described as joyful pop art. I draw influences from current mass culture, my childhood and TV programmes I watched as a kid. My art challenges traditional fine art by bringing an element of fun and creativity." ~ Whatshisname
