The good folks at Thirsty, Singapore’s largest online craft beer store, have again generously sent us a gift box, this time packed with cans of Australian craft beers as their “Thirsty Journey to Australia” to celebrate Australia Day as follow up on their Jingle Beers Christmas Advent calendar box.

The Thirsties are a quirky bunch and are forever coming up with new ideas – like their “Huat’s Up 2022” box which comes with sparklers to celebrate the new year, their “Thirst Aid Kit Stay Home” gift box, “Hoppy Birthday”, “Sip Sip Hooray” and “Don’t Worry, Beer Happy” gift boxes.
The beers come from four brewers in WA, four in Victoria and one in New South Wales and range in alcohol content by volume from 4.2% to 7.0%.

By state of origin and increasing ABV percentages the beverages are Eagle Bay India Pale Lager from Eagle Bay in Western Australia at 5.8%, Colonial Brewing Company’s porter which is brewed in both Margaret River and Port Melbourne at 6%, Nail Brewing Australia’s Oatmeal Stout from Bassendean in WA at 6%, Gage Roads Rock Dance Indian Pale Ale from Palmyrah in WA at 6.5%, Holgate Brewhouse’s Holgate Explorer from Woodend in Victoria at 4%, Kaiju! Beer’s Kaiju Krush.

Tropical Pale Ale from Dandenong in Victoria at 4.7%, Hawkers Beer’s Hazy IPA at 6.2% and Laymonada at 7.0% from reservoir in Victoria and Wayward Brewing Company’s Everyday Ale from Camperdown in New South Wales at 4.2%.

Eagle Bay IPL brings together the crisp sessionability of lager with a New World hop flavour showcasing tropical notes of mojito, mango and melon with soft lime peel through a spritzy mouthfeel, resolving with balanced bitterness and a lasting dry finish.

Colonial Brewing Company’s porter is brewed with chocolate malts for their cocoa and coffee notes and then sweeter crystal malts along with rolled oats to soften the flavour. A combination of modern and classic hop varieties balance the malt with a gentle bitterness and a complimentary light tropical and spice aroma.

Nail Brewing Australia’s Oatmeal Stout is inspired by traditional British dark ales and is a multilayered malty treat full of chocolate, dark cocoa, roast and coffee flavours. The secret is the addition of rolled oats to the malt grist, which creates a fuller, softer mouthfeel that makes the stout a year-long, luscious delight.

Rock Dance Indian Pale Ale is a clear sky in a sea of haze. The new West Coast IPA packs amped-up bursts of tangerine, stone fruit and resin from a hop trifecta of Idaho 7, Citra and Azacca. It’s anchored with rounded malt and firm bitterness.

Holgate Explorer Deliciously crisp and refreshing, Holgate Explorer is the perfect beer for every adventure. Brewed in the lager tradition, Holgate has been honing their recipe since 1999, taking the best parts from their most popular easy-drinking brews. Pale straw in colour, Explorer is crisp, mildly zesty and herbaceous, with delicate citrus and an elegant balance of malt and hops.

Drinks like a Premium European Lager. Kaiju Krush! Tropical Pale Ale is a hazy pale orange with a white head. There is a clean, crisp malted body to this, light on the palate, pale grain notes. Tropical fruit flavours lead the way, pineapple and mango with just a citrusy edge.

Hawkers Beer’s Hazy IPA. There's a very precise way the combination of Galaxy hops from Australia, Motueka from New Zealand, and two of America’s hazy hop masters in Mosaic and Citra, come together provide an incredibly balanced beer awash with tropical juice flavours of passionfruit, lychee, kiwifruit, candied orange and lime.

While it is low on the bitterness, there’s still enough in there to pull Hazy IPA together, while the hop notes continue to shine well after the beer is finished.

Hawkers Beer’s Laymonada is inspired by Lebanon’s variation of a refreshing lemonade, this kettle sour starts with a solid, full-bodied base and introduces a foundation of lemonade with top notes of mint and rosewater for additional refreshing power.

Wayward Brewing Company’s Everyday Ale The crisp, light malt profile is complemented by aromatic tropical fruit and citrus notes courtesy of Australian Galaxy and American Cascade hops.

In 1989, Tasmanian batsman David Boon drank 52 cans of beer between Sydney and London. At that rate the nine cans in the Journey to Australia gift box should get you from Singapore as far as Changsha in Hunan province in time to celebrate the new year or Australia Day!

Enjoy 9 beers with styles ranging from light to bold, such as pale ales, an IPA and lager hybrid, a west-coast IPA, a chocolate-flavored porter, and many more.

The 'Journey to Australia' Craft Beer Gift Box Gift Box is available here at $50.00 and includes free same-day delivery when you order before 4 pm.
