Taking over residency at Baker X next is mother and daughter duo Flash Bakes (@flash.bakes). From 5 to 18 May 2023, the home-bakers will be offering a wide array of their thin-crust tarts at the 20-seater café, with signatures such as the classic Egg Tart, alongside locally inspired and modern flavours.
Run by mother-daughter duo Christina and Esther, Flash Bakes specialises in thin-crust tarts. With Esther’s penchant for tarts with generous filling and a thin crust, Christina sought to create the perfect tart for her daughter. Through their homemade bakes, the two hope that the familiar flavours bring warmth and comfort to customers.
Throughout their residency, look forward to delectable treats such as Orh Nee ($1.80 each), which sees a buttery tart crust filled with creamy yam paste, topped with ginkgo nuts for added texture and other refreshing flavours perfect for all ages are the Lemon Meringue ($3.20 each) and Strawberry ($3.80 each).
