PetCubes, a fresh pet food industry pioneer, has recently unveiled its groundbreaking "Veterinary Support Diet" range. The new alternative diets are meant to revolutionise a market dominated by ultra-processed options by catering to the individual nutritional demands of dogs, particularly with health concerns.

Collaborating with Temasek Polytechnic, PetCubes has conducted rigorous trials to produce this veterinary support diet range to suit dogs with specific health needs. With a diverse selection of proteins, including beef, chicken, pork, and kangaroo meats, these diets also offer a wide array of delicious options to suit various palates and address allergies.

The key differentiating factor of PetCubes' Veterinary Support Diets lies in their fresh, “Gently Cooked” nature, which helps preserve the bioavailability of essential proteins and micronutrients. With human-consumption-grade ingredients carefully selected for their nutrients and health benefits, these diets do not contain cheap or filler ingredients, ensuring optimal nutrition for dogs with special needs.

Safer, delicious, cube-shaped food for dogs with health concerns

PetCubes is committed to providing tailored nutrition plans for dogs with specific health concerns. It led them to develop various veterinary support diets to address these issues head-on. Unlike conventional options such as dry kibble and canned foods associated with potential hazards like aflatoxin contamination, Salmonella presence, ingredient adulteration, and nutritional deficiencies, PetCubes' diets provide a refreshing and safer alternative.

The meals are cube-shaped and designed to fit seamlessly into pet owners' feeding routines, allowing for easy portion allocation during mealtimes. Moreover, PetCubes utilises state-of-the-art blast-freezing technology to ensure that the nutritional benefits of the ingredients are preserved, eliminating the need for artificial preservatives while preventing oxidation and bacterial growth commonly found in packaged fresh dog foods. All meals are prepared at their approved Animal & Veterinary Service (AVS) facility, ensuring safety and quality.

In addition to their commitment to pet health, PetCubes also employ curbside recyclable packaging, demonstrating their efforts to minimise their carbon footprint and contribute to a greener future.

Special diet for specific health issues

Dr Francis Cabana, Director of Nutrition at PetCubes and a renowned Ph.D. wildlife nutritionist developed the special dog diets. He tailored the diets to meet the unique nutritional needs of dogs with specific health conditions while adhering to internationally recognised nutrient requirements.

The four diets in PetCubes' Veterinary Support Diet range are:

1. Ketogenic Diet: This diet supports a dog's ketone energy metabolism, nourishes the immune system and detox pathways, and contains functional foods with nutrigenomic potential. It has been tested on dogs with cancer and has shown promising benefits for dogs with diabetes and epilepsy.

2. Renal Support Diet: This diet contains high-quality protein, low phosphorus, and salt levels, and high potassium content. It has been tested on dogs with chronic kidney diseases.

3. The Pancreas Support Diet is a simple-to-digest, low-fat diet with digestive enzymes and soluble carbohydrates to control pancreatitis in dogs.

4. Digestive Support Diet: This food is designed for dogs with sensitive digestive systems and persistent diarrhoea. It contains a unique protein source and high quantities of soluble fibre to soothe and maintain gut health. It has been tested on dogs suffering from chronic diarrhoea, frequently indicating inflammatory bowel disease.

These diets also incorporate functional foods with nutrigenomic potential and antiangiogenic properties, which have demonstrated the ability to upregulate the expression of cancer-fighting or cancer-preventing genes while down-regulating cancer-promoting genes.

The PetCubes' Veterinary Support Diet range is exclusively available through licensed veterinarians and would require a prescription. Pet owners can find a list of veterinary partners on PetCubes' website. It is best to consult with veterinarians to determine the most suitable diet for their dog's health.

The Veterinary Support Diet range is available from 4 July 2023. For more information, please visit www.petcubes.com
