Experience three distinct pizza styles on Craig Road at Milano Pizza & Wine, where guests can enjoy Artisanal 400 degree sourdough NEO-Neopolitan, Sicilian Grandma, and Buttercrust Pan Pizza. Neo-Neapolitan refers to a pizza that takes basic inspiration and baking style from the authentic Neapolitan pizza, but pushes the flavours, ingredients, and baking style into new and exciting directions.

Milano Pizza & Wine’s 12-inch thoughtfully composed NEO-Neopolitan pies are baked at a consistently higher temperature creating a uniquely developed “crumb” (pattern and size of air holes inside of the crust), sourdough flavour, and a beautifully charred crust. This unique baking style allows their pizza to retain a sturdy base, keeping toppings on the pizza and a need for a knife and fork no longer.

The unique flavour of Anthony Falco’s intensely researched and developed pizza dough over decades of pizza-making is derived from a mixture of Australian Stone Ground Organic Wheat Flour, Italian pizza flour, and their sourdough starter.

The dough is then allowed a 24-hour natural fermentation process to further develop its flavour. This high quality mixture and process leaves diners without a bloated feeling sometimes associated with eating pizza. You won’t find an over-exaggerated crust filled only with air here.

The team at Milano Pizza & Wine focus on flavor and aim to deliver a charred crust that you will enjoy as much as a freshly baked loaf of bread. If you are gluten intolerant, the good news is you are already taken care of.

Due to the long, natural fermentation with organic flour, they have found dough will likely not cause any issues or discomfort. True celiacs should note that they should never eat gluten-free dough that is cooked in the same oven as gluten, therefore they offer a variety of gluten free options on their mains and pasta selection.

Silcilian Grandma style pizza is a 6” square, two-inch deep pie made with a unique preparation where the dough gets laboriously rested, folded, and rested again every two hours over a 24 hour period.

This process allows for this thick pie to still retain a light, airy texture, and “honeycombed” centre. This style of pie is currently trending around the world with expert pizzaiolos!  Not to be missed is the Spicy Honey & Soppressata Sicilian Grandma Pie and the Mortadella, Burrata, & Pistachio.

You might feel a bit of nostalgia whilst biting into Milano’s Meat Lovers Buttercrust Pan Pizza, an homage to a favourite “hut” from your childhood. Here, they elevate the pizza with a selection of curated salumi alongside a method of folding the pizza dough over again and again while incorporating delicious, umami butter. Enjoy a rotating selection of this true indulgence.

Don’t be fooled by the name, Milano Pizza & Wine also offers a great selection of starters, handmade pasta and mains. Starters such as the Spiced Honey Brussel Sprouts with Guanciale, or the Bagna Cauda Steak Tartar served with a pane fresco (a billowed bread made from pizza dough) grace the menu. Handmade pastas such as Pappardelle with Sunday Gravy, the classic Buccatini alla Gricia, and mains like the Chicken Francaise “New York Style” and a Wagyu Tagliata are true standout dishes on their own.

Outside of the main menu selection, don’t miss their Insta-worthy “Dynamite Dessert Pies”, or “other kinds of pies” - tall, large, layered and bursting with flavour you won’t want to miss! Indulge in the likes of the Amalfi Lemon Meringue Pie with Basil Cream or the Banana Cream with torched banana and caramel.

The venue welcomes you with a familiar old-world European sensibility while giving a nod to modernity by updating its palate with a bright and modern colour scheme. A subtle palette inspired by the Italian coast, with a wink to the Italian mid-century zeitgeist of Lambrettas and Grappa.

Leather banquets, globe lighting, and a French pewter bar top are juxtaposed with an open kitchen with stainless steel seating, a large farmhouse table, “grandma lampshades”, and tons of candlelight. The venue also has a large al fresco area with casual bistro style seating.
