Drawing from the mutual passion both bars have for the written word, Nicholas Alexander (Head Bartender of Writers Bar), Kaustubh Singh Negi (Bar Manager of The Old Man Singapore) and Rachel Lim (Bartender of The Old Man Singapore) bring you on an exclusive evening of literary-inspired escapade at Writers Bar on Sunday, 10 October 2021, 5.00pm - 9.00pm.
Look forward to a selection of six delectable creations inspired by the classic and popular highball, Scotch and Soda. For gin lovers, start off your evening with the Setengah Setengah, concocted with Hendrick's Gin, barley, malt and lemon, or go for the Death In The Gulf Steam, crafted with Hendrick's Orbium, a limited edition expression based on the famous flagship Hendrick's Gin, with toasted red rice & oat.
The Macomber's Tombstone presents an intriguing blend of Glenfiddich IPA, pineapple, capsicum, violette and beer; and the Des Lilas of Glenfiddich XX, coffee berry liqueur and gomme syrup would definitely be up a whiskey lover's alley. All cocktails are priced at $20++.
Established as a tribute to the many literary greats who have graced Raffles Hotel Singapore over the century, Writers Bar offers a meticulously curated cocktail experience inspired by the work of the Writer-in-Residence under the Raffles’ Writer’s Residency Programme, which showcases a literary work by an established or aspiring author each year.
Decked in luxuriously appointed furnishings and adorned with stylishly charming mementos and books, referencing the literary legacy of Raffles, the alluring bar is a sophisticated refuge for intimate conversations over handcrafted tipples.
Helmed by Head Bartender Nicholas Alexander, Writers Bar currently offers a selection of unique cocktails influenced by the various colourful characters in “The Raffles Affair”, a light-hearted murder mystery set in Raffles Hotel Singapore and written by Vicky Virtue, the current Writer-in-Residence.
