Stealing the spotlight at the awards ceremony was TDCX, a Singapore-headquartered business outsourcing company, which claimed the coveted "Champion" title in the highly competitive "Business for Good" category. Angie Tay, the Group Chief Operating Officer of TDCX, expressed her delight, stating, "The recognition of TDCX's efforts to drive social impact tells us that we are making progress in the right direction and gives us the fuel to keep driving forward and working with our employees to do well by doing good."
The event also showcased other exceptional contributors, including Foreword Coffee, a social enterprise providing job opportunities to the disabled through coffee, and NannyPro, an infant care provider. Both of them were crowned "Champion" in the "Business for Good" category. Sian Chay Medical Institution, a Traditional Chinese Medicine healthcare provider with a legacy spanning over 122 years, secured the "Champion" title in the "Leadership for Good" category. The diverse winners across different sectors underscored the remarkable variety of industries embracing the principles of social responsibility.
Since its inception in 2017, Brands For Good has been steadfast in its mission to empower businesses as leaders of positive change within developing economies, with a particular focus on Singapore's local economies. By recognizing and honouring small and medium enterprises (SMEs) across Asia that embody the principles of social responsibility in their day-to-day operations, Brands For Good encourages a values-based approach to business, blending traditional entrepreneurship with activism.
Highlighting the significance of intellectual property (IP) in fostering positive change, Alan Ng, Co-Chairperson of Brands for Good, stated, "The Brands for Good philosophy underscores the particular importance of intellectual property possessing the potential to 'do good'. IP, therefore, is not just an economic asset but also an instrument to turn a brilliant idea or invention into a means for the betterment of human life."
The success of a company is no longer solely defined by its business achievements; rather, it is increasingly measured by the positive role it plays in its community and environment. Brands For Good firmly believes that companies capable of achieving this dual purpose are realistic forces for good that deserve recognition.
