On the Edge, is the result of Melanie McCollin-Walker's recent residency on Bruny Island. The artist's studio is located in an extraordinarily beautiful, quaint and eccentric little farm in Roseville, with a vast outlook over Bull Bay, Storm Bay and Iron Pot lighthouse. This dramatic landscape, its isolation and rich history were the inspiration for Melanie's exhibition. The works are a powerful response to Bruny's pure light, ever changing weather conditions and unique and diverse landscape.

Melanie McCollin-Walker began her artistic journey whilst growing up on the island of Barbados. Melanie’s travels have taken her all around the world and it is this nomadic lifestyle, which has been the major source of inspiration for her work. The landscape, and in particular, her signature stormy seas and skies, provide the framework within which the artist’s journey takes place.
