Those who view Zuluaga’s work cannot help but be amused by his unique humour and working process
Since 2016, Walter Zuluaga’s work has began to shift through a progressively unreal experience into what is technically referred to as Magic Realism - modern realist paintings which display elements of fantasy or dream-like subject matter. Technically, this movement lies between Surrealism and Photorealism, with its subject often rendered with photographic naturalism.
Those who view Zuluaga’s work cannot help but be amused by his unique humor and working process through the brilliant if idiosyncratic coalescence of a surreal subject matter interwoven into a realistic setting. Zuluaga has created abstract delicacies of intricacy and beauty interwoven into a magical fabric of smooth photographic clarity.
Since 2013, His exhibitions have soared to an unparralled success and his works have become highly desired pieces of magic, sought after by private collectors. Aside from Singapore, Zuluaga will be represented in Miami during Art Basel (December 2017).
