Introduce your child to the exciting world of aviation this summer at SG Aviation Training, a flight school for young aviators aged 10 to 17 years.

SG Aviation Training's specially designed 20 hour program is perfect to keep your children occupied during the June holidays. Open for students in upper primary and secondary school levels, the course allows young attendees to immerse themselves in the world of aviation through the Basic Aviation Course (with Aptitude Flying) – a 20 hour programme that costs just $385.

Each session is for three hours where students gain an introduction to aeronautics.

The lessons cover basic principles of flight, understanding the various parts of an airplane and the purpose of different flight instruments. With this base knowledge, they then go on to learn more about basic flight operations, optimal weather conditions for flight and get an introduction to fundamental aviation language.

The best part about the course is that it is not entirely theoretical. The budding pilots can also test their skills on an actual Cessna 172 flight simulator and experience flying for the very first time.

Established in 2017, this world-class aviation school infuses the teaching of aviation theory with application using state-of-the-art facilities such as flight simulators.

The knowledge of aerodynamics is not limited to flying, it also helps secondary school students in their study of physics as they can better grasp concepts such as gravitational force, lift, thrust and drag in the process of learning how to fly.

The infusion of the Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics (STEM) curriculum set by the Ministry of Education (MOE) into SG Aviation Training’s programmes can help students improve their knowledge of physics and math. Besides its obvious academic benefit, the program also helps shape personalities by instilling confidence in the children.

“We wanted to create an avenue for young people to learn how to fly in a cost-friendly, low-risk environment. SG Aviation Training has experienced flight instructors that will guide your child in learning the basics of flying and journey with him or her along the road to becoming a full-fledged pilot”, said Malaravan Ron, 55, Founder, SG Aviation Training.

The program is scheduled to run on all five Saturdays in June, starting 2 June 2018 from 10am to 1pm.
