Ng Yu Feng, the mastermind behind YouKneadCakes, left a job in engineering to follow her passion for baking. What began as a weekend side project during the COVID-19 lockdown in 2020 has evolved into a full-time business. In September 2023, Ng took the critical choice to leave her engineering profession to focus solely on her bakery, with the goal of eventually opening her own café.
YouKneadCakes has earned popularity for their scrumptious pound cakes. Visitors to Baker X. can try the Lemon Chia Seed Pound Cake, a popular choice due to its zesty flavour, the Black Sesame Pound Cake with Soybean Crumble, and the classic Original Madeleines, which are a bakery staple. The cookies are as appealing, with options such as the Salted Egg Yolk Cereal Cookie and the Sea Salt Chocolate Chunk Cookie.
YouKneadCakes has released some unique Baker X goodies. The Chocolate Hazelnut Pound Cake is a highlight, with a rich dark chocolate cake filled with chocolate hazelnut feuilletine crisp and finished with a smooth dark chocolate ganache. Another exclusive item is the Yuzu Tart, which contains a tart yuzu curd prepared with fine yuzu zest and juice.
As part of the residency, YouKneadCakes is offering a 10% discount on all purchases of $50 or more.
