Pet friendly, family friendly (more so on weekends) SOS Bar located at The Sail, Marina Bay has reopened its doors with a new food and drinks menu. The new menu features classic American comfort food and cocktails to further enhance the dining experience at this dive bar, known for its extensive variety of draft beers.
The food is high quality with a daily lunch menu of salads, burgers and pasta. The evening bar menu boasts all the soulful fried food and burgers you can handle.
Top of mind for Expat Choice is the SOS Sunday Lamb Roast set (SG$45) available all day 11:00am to 10:30pm under current government regulations.
You'll be served a heart starting treat with the SOS Bloody Mary (pictured above) served distinctively in mason jars with extravagant add-ons of beef slider, sausage and streaky bacon - a meal within itself. Once you have an appetite you will dig in to the Roast Lamb Shoulder (weekly meat selection changes on rotation, so please check with venue) served with grilled and roasted vegetables including roasted cauliflower, carrots and zucchini - all served on a bed of creamy potato mash topped with a classic rich country gravy.
SOS offers a safe open air environment which is designed for all weather conditions - rain or shine. It is a surprising find in the CBD on a weekend when the motion of the city is slow and the atmosphere is relaxed, dog friendly and definitely family friendly with plenty of space for the kids to run wild (kids will love the mini burgers without a doubt).

SOS offers a menu focused on elevated bar bites (ranging from S$8 – S$16), a signature selection of burgers with an option to enjoy as a full-sized portion or a set of three sliders for sharing (offered at the same price of $18) and a range of outrageously garnished Bloody Marys (S$24).
The new menu offers authentic, soulful American cuisine elevated by the intensive preparation of the SOS kitchen, using only the finest produce and freshest ingredients to bring out the hearty flavours of classic favourites.
With large portions ideal for sharing and to pair with your favourite draught beer, SOS is the perfect spot to enjoy restaurant quality food with the lively and boisterous atmosphere of a dive bar.
Highlights from the new menu include signature dishes such as the Buttermilk Fried Chicken with Tabasco & pickle (and an option to choose regular or spicy) and the Dirty Dog, consisting of a pork hot dog, mustard, tomato & pickle on a brioche bun.
The menu also boasts a delicious range of gourmet burgers (or sliders) which includes the signature SOS Burger with a thick beef patty, cheese, crispy bacon, sautéed onions, lettuce, tomato and gherkins, the Pulled Pork Burger which features a 6-hour braised pork with cabbage and melted cheese and The Impossible which consists of a grilled plant-based patty, smashed avocado and red onions.
A stand out burger on our visit was the Chicken Melt Sandwich pictured below (SG$15) - a delicious breaded chicken fillet, smothered with grilled cheese and bacon on a base of crisp lettuce, sliced tomato, and a suggestion of tomato mayo.
Alongside the revamp of the food menu, SOS Bar introduces a special selection of signature stand-out Bloody Marys. These iconic beverages are uniquely presented at SOS with the spirit and flair of how they are famously served in Milwaukee, Wisconsin - the commonly known home of the Bloody Mary in the States.
The SOS Bloody Marys are served distinctively in mason jars with extravagant add-ons of beef sliders, chicken wings, sausages, prawns and even an entire bottle of Corona beer!
Notable mentions include The Bloody Maria that is made with a twist of Mezcal, jalapeno brine and freshly squeezed orange juice, The Michelada which is presented with an upturned bottle of Corona beer and The Bloody Caesar made with clamato juice and topped with prawns.
These delicious new items complement the generous variety of draught beers available. Even with a relaxed, outdoor, breezy, dive bar feel, SOS does not skimp on the quality of the offering, known for their nine tap craft beers which give each customer the quality they need, for all varieties they crave.
The main favourites include the Little Creatures from Byron Bay (Australia), the Sierra Nevada from Oregon (USA) and the Big Wave Golden Ale from Hawaii.
