A new Halal restaurant is set to open its doors on Amoy Street, located in a beautifully restored Anglo-Chinese School. The restaurant offers diners a unique experience, combining delicious Halal Modern European cuisine laced with Malayan influence.
Restaurant Espoir is the brainchild of the team behind the award-winning restaurant, The White Label, who saw a need for a refined Halal dining experience in the heart of the CBD area. The restaurant offers a diverse menu, featuring classic and contemporary dishes prepared by experienced chefs hailing from various hotels. The carefully curated menu includes crowd favorites such as Slow Cooked Breast of Lamb, Squid Ink Paella, and Sea Urchin Tagliatelle. At the same time, Restaurant Espoir boasts a remarkable beverage menu with their signature being the use of imported Halal-compliant liquors to create classic cocktails such as Singapore Sling and Margaritas, a first amongst Halal restaurants locally.
The restaurant is located at the former Anglo-Chinese School (70 Amoy Street), which has been restored and renovated to create a warm and inviting atmosphere for diners. The interior design incorporates traditional chinoiserie elements fused with European touches, in homage to the former Anglo-Chinese School.
The restaurant has a seating capacity of 120 seats, making it an ideal venue for intimate dinners or groups of friends and family as well as corporate events. The restaurant will be taking in queries for large-scale events such as corporate functions and weddings and at the same time, providing private exclusive dining for smaller groups.
Restaurant Espoir opened its doors on 18 April 2023, and diners can expect to be transported to a world of culinary delights and architectural splendour.
