Ms. Maria & Mr. Singh was Chef Gaggan Anand’s latest venture in Bangkok that was first opened in March 2020, two weeks before COVID hit Thailand. A casual offshoot, the restaurant is designed based of a fictitious origin story that reflects a love affair between a Mexican Girl, Ms. Maria and an Indian Boy, Mr. Singh.
Once you step into the restaurant, you are taken through the romantic story of how Ms. Maria and Mr. Singh meet and eventually fall in love, which is displayed within the menu in a comic, cartoon style presentation.
The restaurant is Ms. Maria & Mr. Singh’s house, where two cultures that are very similar in terms of gastronomy and design meet, showcasing the house through a vibrant palette of yellow and blue colour inspired from the cities of Oaxaca and Jaipur.
The food itself marries home-style Mexican and Indian cooking in a novel blend of flavours and traditions. Romantically influenced by both cultures, be witness to some of the greatest creations of all time from Chef Gaggan himself, as diners embark on a culinary journey from Mexico to India.
The menu also showcases a specially curated selection of Chef Gaggan’s signature dishes reminiscent of his early days as a chef in Bangkok. This time, diners can expect a refreshing take on what Chef Gaggan and the team has to offer in a more colourful, casual, and approachable manner.
