Life in Singapore is always busy and even if you’re new here, it wouldn’t take you long to find out how the people of this island like to unwind.

The sound of beer pints opening, the conversations at a table, sommeliers talking about the notes of different wines, and a breeze of the Marina Bay bringing along the aroma of delicious food. Yup, this is how we unwind—good food at the newest restaurants of Singapore. Yes, we’ve caught a whiff (of their food) and we’re here to share it with you. Image Credit: Ten+ Facebook Page

Fizzy Dayz

The team responsible for Nutmeg & Clove under the leadership of the talented Colin Chia who has won Asia’s 50 Best 2022 Industry Icon award has taken yet another step forward with Fizzy Dayz. It’s a straight-up diner bar where you can expect chilled tipples and plates of comfort food done well. We’re crazy about their Duck Fat Fries, Nashville Chicken Waffle Burger, and Waffle Pressed Cheeseburger. You get a good deal on their buffet with or without free-flowing alcohol on their Sunday brunch menu. Image Credit: Fizzy Dayz Facebook Page

Opening soon at Chijmes, Hanazen is the brainwave of the reputed Chef Yusuke Takada who has won two Michelin stars for his restaurant, La Cime in Japan. The menu at Hanazen is going to be of a charcoal-grilled omakase and a French brasserie. You can make a reservation to experience delights like Singa Dog, Beef and Tuna in Beetroot Tartlet, Pandan Flan with Hamaguri Clams, Wagyu Ribeye, and Panna Cotta with Hamaguri Clams. Chifa

The lively ambience complimenting their Peruvian-Chinese menu, Chifa should be amongst the first on your list if you love bold, tantalising flavours. Pick from a selection of wines and champagnes and enjoy them with ceviche, tiradito, and dim sum. Relish delicious beef, scallops, roast pork, or tiger prawn skewers for appetisers and enjoy their hearty mains with noodles. We recommend Roasted Chicken “A la Brasa”, Bijao Wrapped Fish and “Sudado”, and Wok Fried Seafood XO Aeropuerto. Do save some room for Tres Leches Chifa. Image Credit: Chifa!

Tandoor

tandoor

The award-winning Tandoor is back at Holiday Inn and we’re much too excited about it. The coma-inducing, hearty meals at this Indian restaurant are hard-to-resist and with the kind of flavours they serve, we’re not even trying to resist. Sink your teeth into their tikkas and kebabs, cooked to perfection and amongst which we love Malmali Seekh Kebab (mutton), and Ajwaini Macchi Tikka (fish). Meat lovers can opt for their Rogan Josh (lamb), Murgh (chicken) Aur Badi Mirch Ka Salan, and vegetarians can go for the Kacche Aam Ki Sabzi (raw mango vegetable) and Baingan Bharta (roasted eggplant) with a choice of breads. TAG Espresso

tag expresso

We loved the specials at TAG Espresso when it opened up Orchard Road and now it has a new outlet at Takashimaya Shopping Centre. Sipping on their Espresso Martini will give you just the right dose of caffeine if you’ve got tons of shopping to do. We also recommend their Pineapple Black as well as their refreshing lattes—Mint, Rose Coconut, Kaya Pandan, Chocolate, Matcha, and Hojicha. You can also enjoy some eats like Truffle Fries, Avocado Toast, Big Breakfast, French Toast, and Chocolate Lava Cake. Image Credit: Tagespresso.com

If your date loves fine dine, impress them with a night of wine, oysters, and delicious seafood at Humpback. Along with their expansive wine list, they also have fun names and cheery descriptions for each section, making it easy for you to pick. The food is simple, elegant, and jam packed with Japanese flavours. Tuck into their Sea Scallop with orange and gochujang, Tiger Prawns with citrus butter and lime caviar, and Purple Clam with toasted koji and green asparagus. For mains go for their Grilled Coral Trout or Marble Goby. Image Credit: Humpback Facebook Page

Giving us a feeling of being in a tent with greenery all around and a picnic-like ambience, Ten+ is a place we’d always prefer for a cold craft brew and getting our hands dirty to mop up the delicious food. While the menu has plenty to offer from hearty pasta to donburi and delicious big breakfasts with artisanal coffee, we absolutely love tucking into their Signature Crispy Pork Knuckle, Braised Lamb Shank, and Flame Grilled Angus Burger. You’re sure to leave here happily fed and satiated. Image Credit: Ten+ Facebook Page

Restaurant Chedi

Chedi_Gaeng-som-fak-thong

The perfect way to transport to Thailand without leaving Singapore is Chef K-Jin Lim’s tasting menu at Restaurant Chedi. The menu is forever changing with the seasons and in each dish, you’ll find the vibrancy of Thai cuisine made using home cooking te0chniques and presented in a contemporary manner. We go gaga over some of their dishes and the these include Miang Kham (wild betel leaf, Thai miang reduction, rayong dried shrimp, Hokkaido ikura), Nam Ya Goong Mang Korn (Maine lobster, yellow curry, grilled greens, crispy rice), and Kor Muu Yang (Iberico secreto, Isaan street style tomato sweet basil salad with northern thai relishes).
