From 20 October to 14 November 2021, Origin Grill offers a taste of Japan's finest as the Hida Wagyu beef makes an appearance on the restaurant's menu.

Guests can choose from a selection of six à la carte dishes showcasing the celebrated beef in a multitude of flavours or opt for the dégustation menu which is available for both lunch and dinner.

With its delicate marbling resembling a fine mesh throughout the “cherry blossom” pink meat, the high-quality Japanese beef is derived from Kuroge Wagyu, a type of black-haired cattle raised in the Gifu prefecture.

Over a period of no less than 14 months, the Hida cattle is specially tended to by accredited farmers, and nurtured with the region's pure water, clean air, and agreeable climate to give the beef its signature taste. The brand first rose to prominence when it won top honours at Japan’s “Wagyu Olympic Games” in 2002.

Highlights on the à la carte menu include Wagyu Sando ($98) and A5 Hida Wagyu Striploin/Ribeye ($198) pictured above. The former sees panko-crusted A5 wagyu ribeye deep-fried to perfection and sandwiched between toasted sliced white loaf with a slather of black garlic mayonnaise, while the latter is gloriously grilled and served with a side of caramelised eggplant that has been scored and brushed with a sweet and savoury glaze of sake and mirin for an incredible depth in flavour.

Guests who wish to enjoy a full culinary tour of the Hida Wagyu beef can go with the dégustation menu ($188), which features four standout dishes from the à la carte menu alongside the restaurant’s signature dessert.

Hida Wagyu beef specials are available for dine-in, takeaway and delivery.
