In celebration of Singapore’s 58th birthday, Yàn commemorates the nation’s rich culinary heritage with a National Day Dim Sum Menu (from $6++). Available for lunch only from 1 to 15 August 2023, delight in a repertoire of delicate creations showcasing a sumptuous spread of classic Cantonese delights incorporated with local flavours.
Paying homage to the Peranakan culture in Singapore is the Poached Prawns and Diced Cod Fish Dumpling with Assam Sauce ($9++ for 3 pieces). Tossed in a piquant assam sauce, the silky wantons feature a combination of succulent prawns and diced cod fish. The Steamed Vegetarian Dumpling ($6 for 2 pieces) presents a crystal dumpling filled with preserved radish, peanuts, carrots, water chestnuts, and onions.
Returning favourites include the Steamed Xiao Long Bao with Bak Kut Teh Stock ($8++ for 4 pieces) and Steamed Hainanese Chicken with Sticky Rice wrapped in Lotus Leaf ($6++ for 2 pieces). The former draws inspiration from the famed pork rib soup in Singapore while the latter showcases a Cantonese interpretation of the beloved Hainanese chicken rice.
