Jigger & Pony Group is excited to announce its event line-up this May, joining the unparalleled celebration of cocktails alongside the Singapore Cocktail Festival (SGCF) with a range of guest bartender shifts and pop-ups. From 4-11 May 2023, the Group invites cocktail lovers to experience the best of Asia’s vibrant bar scene across five of its bars and restaurants.
One of the pioneers in championing Singapore’s craft cocktail culture, Jigger & Pony Group is known for its innovative and award-winning concepts that offer a diverse range of experiences. This SGCF, the Group is proud to be hosting top bars from around the region, including The Bombay Canteen (Mumbai), Bar Trigona (Kuala Lumpur), The Cocktail Club (Jakarta), Vesper (Bangkok), The Curator (Manila), and Swrl (Tokyo).
CONVIVIAL HOSPITALITY - IN MAKATI AND SENOPATI STYLE
The festivities kick off at Jigger & Pony on Thursday, 4 May 2023, with a guest shift by The Curator from Manila. Known for their emphasis on flavours and treating ingredients with utmost respect, the intimate backroom bar is widely acknowledged as the best bar in the Philippines, taking home the award at Asia’s 50 Best Bars in 2019 and 2021. Expect a night of fun Makati-style hospitality as The Curator’s Co-Founders David Ong and Jericson Co shake things up from 8pm to 12am.
The fun continues on Tuesday, 9 May 2023, with the rock stars of Jakarta’s bar scene: Kiki Moka, and Aldi Upay of The Cocktail Club. Ranked No. 32 on Asia’s 50 Best Bars - and the best bar in the country - savour the best of the Indonesian archipelago, with tantalising cocktails that feature local ingredients and new flavour combinations. Famed for its spin on the classics and never taking themselves too seriously, the veteran duo ensures a fun and convivial night at Jigger & Pony.

A TASTE OF INDIA: THE BOMBAY CANTEEN EXPERIENCE
Situated between the Singapore Cocktail Festival Village at Bayfront Event Space and the hotbed of bars in the city is Sugarhall. Jigger & Pony Group’s rum-focused cocktail pub will be hosting Mumbai’s The Bombay Canteen for an exclusive two-night pop-up over the weekend of 5 and 6 May.
In a showcase of India’s diversity of regional cuisines and its indigenous ingredients, Executive Chef Hussain Shahzad presents a set menu of flavoursome small plate signatures like the Toddy Shop Fried Chicken with tamarind aioli and the rich, umami Chettinad Prawn Aglio Olio. Head Bartender Prantik Haldar completes The Bombay Canteen experience with cocktails that took the bar to No. 5 on the 30 Best Bars India 2022 list and No. 76 on the extended list of Asia’s 50 Best Bars 2022.

The Group’s Bukit Pasoh enclave of three venues under one roof - Humpback, Live Twice and Gibson - has gained a reputation for being a prime dining and drinking destination.
On Sunday, 7 May, Humpback welcomes Bartender Kohei Kamei from Tokyo’s leading wine cocktail bar, swrl. A concept by industry icon Shingo Gokan, be intrigued by their unorthodox approach of concocting cocktails by swirling the drink’s ingredients into the glass. Match guest cocktails like Melbourne - vodka with chardonnay and milk-brewed coffee - with Humpback’s inventive seafood dishes and all day happy hour oysters for the perfect lazy Sunday afternoon.

On Thursday, 11 May, Bukit Pasoh takes a bustling turn with two concurrent guest shifts at Gibson and Live Twice. Fall in love with Asian ingredients at Gibson, which is hosting the like-minded Bar Trigona from Kuala Lumpur. Head Bartender Rohan Matmary will be presenting highlights from their “Foraged Malaysia” menu. The best bar in Malaysia for four consecutive years and currently at No. 29 on the Asia’s 50 Best Bars 2022 list, Bar Trigona has won hearts with its focus on the country’s rich diversity of local ingredients and beverage rituals.

A seamless meeting of Japanese and European-style bartending will take place at Live Twice, as the team welcomes Bar Manager Tom Hearn and Bartender Jakkrit Promchaisit of Vesper. One of Bangkok’s best at No. 19 on the Asia’s 50 Best Bars 2022 list, look forward to signature drinks from its new, community-driven menu, “People of Vesper”. In addition to the events that are open to the public, SGCF wristband holders can also head down to Jigger & Pony, Live Twice, and Gibson to enjoy SGCF Signature Cocktails at $18++ from 5 to 21 May.
Jigger & Pony will be serving up their Super Lemon Highball, a Suntory Ao Whisky-based drink that celebrates the cocktail community while Gibson’s specially created Moonstone is pure alchemy with Bombay Sapphire Gin, citrus, cacao liqueur and dashi pinot grigio. Live Twice’s refreshing Black Magic Collins - Dewar’s 12 Yo Blended Scotch, cold brew coffee, Okinawa sugar, and cassis - is the perfect start to any bar hop.
