For expats living in Singapore, finding a bar that feels like home can be a challenge. However, Highlander Bar, the Scottish-themed bar and restaurant, has been a popular choice for expats for over 16 years. After spending 16 successful years at Clarke Quay, the venue has recently moved to Millenia Walk, offering a full Scottish experience to expats in Singapore.

Scottish Entertainment and Cuisine

Highlander Bar was founded 16 years ago by Scottish entrepreneur George Clark Martin. It was one of Singapore's first Scottish whisky joints and has since grown into a one-stop entertainment venue offering world-class live music entertainment, featuring daily live band performances and a resident DJ. The Clarke Quay outlet initially focused on serving Scottish whiskies only, but over time, started to add live entertainment to their offerings. Highlander's resident band, Enigma, together with OneLove and ENT, provide an unparalleled entertainment experience from 9pm every night. In between band sets, Highlander’s resident DJ spins all-time favourite hits to keep the party going.

The move to Millenia Walk has allowed Highlander Bar to offer a more immersive Scottish experience for expats. The venue boasts a purpose-built stage and sound system for live entertainment, and its resident band continues to be a big draw. Guests can enjoy live music every night, with a mix of classic and contemporary hits.

Highlander at Millenia Walk serves the company's signature Scottish-accentuated menu, with a new emphasis on food to broaden the Scottish experience even more. The bar’s Scottish dishes, such as Haggis (made with sheep's pluck - heart, liver, and lungs), Stuffed Grilled Chicken, Beef and Guinness Pie, and Scotch Eggs, are slow-cooked and lovingly prepared to do the Scottish heritage proud. These signature dishes are a must-try for anyone wanting a taste of true Scotland. To enhance the Scottish experience even further, the staff wears kilts.

Authentic Scottish Atmosphere

One aspect that the team at Highlander has successfully replicated and uplifted is the décour. The venue is reminiscent of the former Highlander at Clarke Quay, yet modern and comfortably inviting with modern furniture and new replicas of the natural wood carved and gnarled antlers lights that mimic the bar's logo. The new outlet not only features a wall that conceals its kitchen and back offices but also includes stag heads and a hand-painted wall by a local artist, all designed to lend an authentic, classy, and yet mysterious look to the place.

The alfresco area at Highlander overlooks the Park and Dine section of Millenia Walk, making it extremely accessible as one can park and walk just a few steps into the bar. This parking spot is also a preferred supercar spot, and one can enjoy the bustling after-work view from this spot.

Scottish Pride in Singapore

Highlander at Millenia Walk is the only venue in Millenia Walk with daily live band performances. Its Scottish heritage is something the bar takes pride in and the founding shareholders, majority of which are based in Scotland, continues to support the Scottish heritage of the establishment, including kilt-wearing at Highlander! With its emphasis on live music, Scottish cuisine, and Scottish décour, Highlander has successfully created a Scottish experience that expats in Singapore can call their own.

Highlander at Millenia Walk is open daily from 5 pm to 2 am on Sundays to Thursdays, and 5 pm to 3 am on Fridays, Saturdays, and the eve of public holidays. For expats who are homesick and want a taste of Scotland or those who are looking for a unique and authentic experience in Singapore, Highlander at Millenia Walk is a must-visit.
