The #highhousesg launch party over the weekend was nothing short of spectacular!  Located on the 61st and 62nd floors of 1 Raffles Place (yes, where the old Stellar restaurant used to be), HighHouse is a heady mix of sophisticated dining, enticing cocktails and stunning views.  But don’t be fooled – come 10pm the vibe shifts up a gear and HighHouse transforms into a bass thumping, sexy-as nightclub and dance floor.  Gosh it was good!  The décor is heavy on New York vibes, sexy and moody with artworks and digital content sprinkled throughout.  We enjoyed a set tasting menu from a kitchen heavily influenced by flavours of the Pacific.  I am not always a fan of Beef Tartare, but this version was silky and clean seasoned perfectly with hints of wasabi and pickled mustard greens.  It was melt in your mouth good, as was the Grilled Spanish Octopus served with a chickpea puree and Thai-inspired dressing.  The highlight was definitely the Sakura Pork Belly Massaman Curry.  Again, the protein was so tender!  Served with sticky rice balls, this HighHouse version was a nice spin on a classic.

Cocktails are also very much the thing at HighHouse!  Continuing with the Pacific feel, the cocktails were well executed and tasty.  My favourite was the Sticky Mango Highball … hints of mango teamed with bright citrus flavours and a Thai white rum.  I was pleasantly surprised at how well the cocktails paired with the tasting menu as it would not be my normal go-to with food.

And then we get to 10pm!  The party comes in hard with an in house DJ and fabulous array of beautiful, young things who miraculously appear as the evening shifts into second gear.  We loved the loud music and party vibe but if that is not your thing, there is plenty of space across the two floors to just chill and continue to enjoy the stunning views and drinks.  Oh there is even a Karaoke room #sold!

The staff were so very attentive and knowledgeable, nothing was too much trouble as you would expect in a classy venue like this.

HighHouse is definitely a fabulous dinner and drinks spot for your next date night or when you are trying to impress those overseas visitors – how often can you say you looked down on MBS?   And if you are feeling really adventurous then the nightclub is for you .. even us old folks!

HighHouse is taking reservations from December 15.  Do yourself a favour!
