Beneath a multitude of pendent lights creating an intimate atmosphere, LuMi Dining comes to life under the guidance of Chef Federico Zanellato and his wife and Sommelier, Michela.
Until LuMi and its Miso-strone came along, the idea of a Japanese-Italian restaurant sounded distinctly unappetising.
But in the hands of chef Federico Zanellato (ex-Noma, Attica and Ormeggio at the Spit), this fusion not only makes sense – it makes you wonder why more people aren’t doing it.
Enjoy multiple courses with matched wines from Michela Boncagni (Lumi’s sommelier and Zanellato’s wife), with serene views of Pyrmont Bay to keep you occupied between acts.
LuMi is an absolute waterfront location surrounded by glass sliding doors. LuMi serves modern Italian food with a Japanese twist. Focused on the seasonality of the produce but more importantly on the flavour.
LuMi's offers a tasting menu based on seasons and market availability and mainly seafood based, a full vegetarian menu and they can accommodate most dietary requirements if mentioned during the reservation process.
At this stage they are unable to cater for Vegans. Federico has also been recognised as Citi Chef of The Year 2017 by SMH Good Food Guide.
LuMi is ranked 13 in the Australian Top 100 restaurant 2018 by The Australian Financial Review and awarded in 2019 as Best Italian Restaurant in the World by Gambero Rosso International. Video Credit: Justin Khanna Image Credit: LuMi dining Facebook Page
