The Gérard Bertrand Food and Wine Pairing Experience is a brand-new sensory journey for gourmet travellers from Oceania Cruises®, which is well-known for its opulent, culinary-led cruises. This unique service will make its debut on the brand-new Oceania AlluraTM on its first journey in July 2025. It will also be available on Oceania Vista® in September and will be extended to Oceania MarinaTM and RivieraTM by 2026.
This elegant six-course lunch, which combines superb food with fine wines from renowned South of France winemaker Gérard Bertrand, exemplifies Oceania Cruises' longstanding dedication to gastronomic excellence. Bertrand's wines are carefully matched with freshly prepared dishes that showcase their complexity and regional character. He is well-known for his organic and biodynamic winemaking methods and strong ties to the Languedoc-Roussillon region.
The intimate matching experience, which costs US$175 per person (not including gratuities) and is only available to 40 guests per session, is hosted in Oceania Cruises' famous French restaurant, Jacques. Under the direction of knowledgeable chefs and sommeliers, visitors will explore a carefully chosen meal that not only satisfies their palates but also enlightens them about wine areas, flavour dynamics, and the environmentally friendly methods used in Bertrand's winemaking.

Some of the menu's highlights include a delicate potato fritter with vodka-lime Chantilly and Sturia Ossetra caviar, which goes well with the sophisticated Gérard Bertrand "Clos du Temple" Rosé; a distinctive Venetian-style calamari risotto, which goes well with the Château l'Hospitalet La Clape White Blend; and a rich beef short rib, which goes well with the renowned Minervois La Livinière "Clos d'Ora." A rich Callebaut Gold Chocolate Cake, superbly matched with a 1975 Les Vignerons de Maury 'Maury' Tuile Vieille Reserve, rounds out the dish.
The already varied menu of food and wine pairings offered by Oceania Cruises is enhanced by this new culinary adventure. Connoisseur Wine Pairing Lunches, the Odyssey Menu's worldwide flavour adventure, the Moët & Chandon Champagne Experience aboard Vista and Allura, the Dom Pérignon six-course dinner, and exclusive private dining in Privée are just a few of the renowned experiences that guests can partake in. All of these experiences aim to introduce visitors to the art, craftsmanship, and history of the best wines and cuisines in the world.

Jason Montague, Chief Luxury Officer at Oceania Cruises, states that the objective is to let clients explore and customise their luxury cruise experience in addition to offering outstanding cuisine. Oceania's overarching goal of fostering connections via gastronomic discovery is strengthened by this new Gérard Bertrand collaboration. Chef Alexis Quaretti, Executive Culinary Director, echoes this view when he says the partnership is a combination of world-class wine and food that is both decadent and informative.
