Penang Branded Traditional Streetfood (Penang BTS) is slated to bring the gastronomic delicacies of Malaysia's Penang island to Singapore in June. This event, held at the Mandala Club Singapore, is a cooperation between the Malaysia Tourism Promotion Board and the renowned Penang-born Lingham & Sons, known for their iconic Lingham Chilli Sauce. This is the first international Penang BTS event, and it aims to acquaint Singaporeans to the rich flavours and cultural history of Penang's street cuisine.

Penang BTS was launched in 2022 by Branded Traditional Streetfood Enterprise to honour Malaysia's hawker culture through worldwide pop-up events. This special edition will showcase six of Penang's most well-known hawkers, offering a one-of-a-kind buffet experience. Among these is Ah Kuan's Awesome Char Koay Teow, a dish known for its juicy prawns and classic wok hei flavour. Ah Kuan is a third-generation master of Penang's signature fried noodle dish, a street food staple.

Another highlight of Penang BTS is Kek Seng Cafe's Assam Laksa, a delicacy with a 118-year history and a reputation for extremely savoury and fishy flavours. This rendition of Assam Laksa is regarded as one of the best on the island. The event will also showcase Ah Soon Kor's Rangoon Road Hokkien Prawn Mee, which has been honed over 50 years and is known for its fiery prawn and pork broth.

The roster will also include Pulau Tikus Duck Meat Koay Teow Th'ng, a meal served since 1983 with delicate duck slices and bouncy rice noodles. Grandpa Ong Penang Chee Cheong Fun will provide a unique version of the regional delicacy, blending chilli sauce, sweet sauce, and peanut butter-infused prawn paste. Finally, Moh Teng Pheow Nyonya Delights, which has specialised in Nyonya cuisine since 1933, will debut their Nyonya Salad, a secret family recipe, to the Singaporean audience for the first time.
