Whimsically named after a stop on London’s Northern Tube Line, Chalk Farm was founded in late 2010. Back then, the company’s presence was strictly online. Specialising in unfussy but elegant cakes, there were just two on the menu: a carrot whiskey sultana and a deep, dark gingerbread, both of which were highly popular during Christmas time.
We know Chalk Farm is named after a train stop in London, however, wouldn’t a more befitting name for it be Cake Farm? Anyway, Chalk Farm is elegance personified on a plate. Even though they started off with merely two basic flavours on the menu, they’ve come leaps and bounds and now proudly offer more than 20 options which also include some local favourites like coconut gula melaka, pandan durian, kueh salat and sugee.
The showstopper here is of course the chocolate Guinness cake paired up with classic flavours like rum butterscotch bundt, espresso meringue and salted caramel red velvet. Time to get your knives, forks and bare hands out! Image Credit: Thechalkfarm.com
