The Fat Kid Bakery

Meet Ariel Tang, a self-taught baking pro who converted her passion for pastries into a touching journey. When she first started baking delicacies for her loved ones, she had no idea how much joy her creations could cause in the world. The resourceful 24-year-old Ariel was motivated by the touching response and began experimenting with recipes. She was an expert baker of bomboloni, croissants, eclairs, and sourdough loaves. She was inspired by people's appreciation for her baked goods to turn her hobby into a home-based bakery, which is now thriving as a charming brick-and-mortar shop.

The Fat Kid Bakery said goodbye to its Ang Mo Kio origins in 2023 and embraced a new beginning. It now dominates the prominent businesses on Amoy Street, with higher ambitions and a bigger kitchen.  Get ready for the show's star: Sourdough Bombos! Using a two-year sourdough starter, these doughnuts with an Italian influence are made. The trick? a painstaking 72-hour fermenting procedure that yields delightfully fluffy, heavenly pillows.

Indulge in timelessly delicious classics like blueberry cheesecake bombos and vanilla creme brulee to sate your sweet tooth. Explore the world of triple chocolate brownies, which are so rich and fudgy that they almost melt in your mouth with each bite. Eclairs are another option, available with either a fiery calamansi meringue twist or decadent chocolate and vanilla cream. The Fat Kid Bakery is more than simply a place to buy sweets; it's also a touching story of how to convert a hobby into an exciting journey. Image Credit: The Fat Kid Bakery Facebook Page 2nd Image Credit
