Tarts by Lin (@tartsbylin) is next in line to take up residency at Baker X. From 2 August to 25 September 2023, the self-taught resident baker, Wang Li Lin, presents a delectable array of assorted confections, ranging from her signature tarts to other crowd-favourites such as cookies and cakes.
Lin, a passionate home baker, finds joy in pampering her loved ones with delectable treats passed down from her late mother and relatives. Through her culinary explorations, she discovered her love for crafting tarts. Her well-received fruity creations fuelled her decision to establish Tarts by Lin in late 2019.
During Tarts by Lin’s residency, savour her bestsellers such as her Fruit Tarts (from $2.20) - a delightfully buttery tart base topped with assorted fresh fruits, complemented with their house-made French pastry cream; Crunchy Chocolate Tart (from $2.80) - a symphony of textures with a layer of hazelnut crunch and creamy chocolate, enrobed in a sweet chocolate glaze; and Strawberry Basil Tart ($5.90) - exclusively created for Baker X, it is a new creation laced with strawberry frangipane, layered with strawberry confit and finished with a light and airy basil-infused ganache, fresh strawberries and wine jelly.
Other notable highlights include Lemon Meringue, Pecan and Azuki Matcha Tarts, as well as festive favourite Almond Cranberry Shortbread Cookies ($15 a bottle).
