Developed in the 1830s as part of the 1822 Raffles’ plan for Chinatown, back then Amoy Street was located near the shore of Singapore, housing businesses that catered to the sailors and the sea trade. Interesting also to note, it was also associated with salubrious opium-smoking dens during colonial times.
These days, Amoy Street is buzzing with a bustling bar, cafe and dining scene adding to the vibe of one of the most hip and happening precincts for socialising in The Lion City. The sheer variety of venues you can visit is mind-boggling.

Acclaimed as Asia’s 50 Best Bars for three consecutive years from 2016-18, Employees Only is not to be missed. The reasons for its accolades are many, but we feel it is because of the happening bar scene and chilled-out vibes.
