As we age, skin laxity begins deep at the skin’s foundation.

The decreasing and weakening collagen in the skin’s deep support structures causes laxity which gives an overall “dropping” or loose appearance of the face, jawline, neck as well as the chest.

In order to firm and tighten sagging skin, the support structure of the skin (collagen) should be effectively restored to create a “lifting” and more youthful effect.

What is Ultherapy?

Ultherapy is a FDA-cleared non-invasive face lifting procedure to gently and gradually lift the eyebrow, jaw, under-chin, neck and chest. Ultherapy uses safe focused ultrasound energy that creates new collagen in the dermis and at the skin’s deep support structure (SMAS) to lift skin without surgery or incision.

Ultherapy has also received a European CE mark for for lifting the skin on the brow, under the chin, and on the neck. It has also been approved for improving the appearance of the décolleté.

How It Works

Utherapy uses surgical precision tranducers (hand device) to deliver ultrasound energy at a temperature optimal for neocollagenesis - a natural process of regenerating collagen that unfolds over time (a period of 3 to 6 months, sometimes 12). The improvement is subtle and natural, but skin tightening is noticeable.

As the ultrasound energy is delivered, you will feel tiny amounts of warm energy being deposited to precise depths, indicating that the collagen-building process has been initiated. Comfort levels may vary from person to person, but the sensation only lasts while the ultrasound energy is being delivered.

Recent Ultherapy software upgrade has been made to improve the treatment, making it more manageable and comfortable for patients. And same as other treatments, Ultherapy should only be done by a certified and experienced doctor to avoid unexpected results.

Good Candidates for Ultherapy

Individuals who have mild to moderate skin laxity where the skin begins to feel and look less firm is a good candidate for Ultherapy. Examples include a lowered eyebrow line, loose skin on the neck, sagging under the chin, and lines or wrinkles on the chest. However, the best way to find out if you're an Ultherapy candidate is to schedule a consultation with a practitioner.

Combination Treatments with Ultherapy

Ultherapy can also be combined with other non-surgical treatments such as Facial Fillers, Botox and Titan Treatment to combat all signs of aging.

Facial Fillers are injectable gels that add volume and structure to the skin. Fillers can also be used to contour the face, augment the chin and increase the nose bridge without any surgery. Botox, on the other hand, removes unwanted wrinkles yet maintaining facial mobility for a natural look. It works best on lines that are formed because of muscle contraction such as frown lines, horizontal forehead lines as well as smile lines (crow’s feet).

Similar to Ultherapy, Titan is also a non-invasive procedure that also works at the deeper layers of the skin. Titan uses light energy to stimulate collagen growth by providing a uniform distribution of energy. This cause an immediate collagen contraction in the skin resulting in a naturally tighter look. After the Titan procedure, new collagen growth results in further tightening with the improvement of lax skin, folds and lines.
