João's photographic journey is as captivating as his work. With a rich cultural background and his father's collection of classic female photographs, João acquired a deep appreciation for strong female figures. After working in editorial and advertising photography, he pioneered nude photography in Portugal in 1994.

For decades, João has worked as a photographer, teacher, editor, and producer. His accolades and partnerships with large companies demonstrate his expertise. João, despite his accomplishments, is driven by a quest for learning and fostering curiosity in others, emulating Federico Fellini's quote: "I am a boat drifting with the tide, without religion." I question my duty...I think these are dignified ways to keep working.I want to show folks new images I'm not tired of. I want to intrigue people."
