Months in the making and launching fresh out of the dining-in ban, this all-ages affair promises to enthral and delight with edible canapes reimagined from stars of the Despicable Me franchise.
As Singapore steps out of a month-long dining-in ban, renowned chef and artist Janice Wong teams up with Illumination and Universal Brand Development to bring forth afternoons’ worth of sweet, silly respite from Tuesday 22 June to Saturday 31 July 2021, through a unique high tea experience at 2am: dessertbar inspired by the beloved, blue overalls-clad Minions from the most successful animated franchise of all-time.
Marking the third—and most elaborate—collaboration between the celebrated desserts doyenne and the global cultural phenomenon, the Minions-inspired high tea experience has been six months in the making.
Launching on Tuesday, 22 June 2021 for a six-week run every Tuesday to Sunday from 3.00pm to 6.00pm, the family-friendly high tea experience will feature a brand-new assortment of edible canapes in Minion yellow inspired by the franchise’s sweet and subversive characters, including Orange Blossom Macaroons; Kevin’s Popcorn Caramel Bon Bon; Stuart’s Lemon Tart; Vanilla Custard Mochi; Banana White Bean Snow Skin Mooncakes; Gru’s Bao and Banana Passionfruit Cake.
The all-ages affair also caters to both children and the young at heart with Passionfruit and Peppermint Chocolate Paint and Crayons adding an edible craft component. Wash it all down with a frothy, blue-tinged Soda Vanilla Pop and a satisfying burp.
The high tea experience will also surround guests with their favourite Despicable Me stars in all manner of decorations—from action figure plushies for the tables to life sized inflatables for Insta-worthy moments—as well as take-home prize packs with Minions collectibles to be won.
The Minions High Tea will be available from 22 June to 31 July 2021, every Tuesday to Sunday from 3.00pm to 6.00pm for dine-in only at 2am: dessertbar.
Tickets are priced at $55 nett per adult and $40 nett per child under 12, and can be purchased on www.2amdessertbar.com from 17 June onwards, on a first-come, first-served basis.
